The bookWhy The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

Taylor Jenkins Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (2017) follows a reclusive, ageing Hollywood icon who finally tells an unknown journalist the truth about her life, her fame and her seven marriages. It's about the stories we tell the world, and the ones we keep for ourselves.

Evelyn was born in Hell's Kitchen to Cuban parents and made her name in 1950s Hollywood, so the table goes Cuban and American, and the room goes full Hollywood party. And because it's October, there's one more rule: dress for the occasion.

The afternoonWhat to expect

  1. 1A welcome cocktail and an icebreaker
  2. 2A guided discussion of the book, course by course
  3. 3A 10-dish menu of Cuban and American food, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, plus cocktails
  4. 4Games from the world of the book, a group photo and a small gift to take home

The menu stays a surprise until the day. Mention allergies or dietary needs when you book.
